Archive for November, 2009

October has been a really good month for me. I shot some weddings here and there, some events there and here and also some potraits as well. It kept me so busy that i hardly realised that time had been passing by pretty quickly. But i guess the highlights of the month were really well worth the tiredness and sleepless nights.

First up was the Workshop by Jerry Ghionis from Australia. Hailed as one of the best in the world, it was really an eye opener for me to see how good a top notch world class photographer can produce images that looked it it was ripped righ out of a magazine without editing! It was super amazing! And at the same time aspiring for me to want to get better and better and one day be as good as he is too!

Next up was the spending of a million sleepless nights, ok well at least 20 out of the 31 days were spent in meetings after meetings to prepare for the Master Photographer’s Association Grading. Established in 1952, the Master Photographers Association is the United Kingdom’s only organization for full time, qualified and professional photographers, all of whom are bound by the association’s Code of Conduct.

But well, after so many days of vetting and editing and re editing, we’ve all finally pulled through. All of us who have applied for the master photographer’s grading have made it through to become full pledge “masters”.

The entire process actually really humbled me so much because it made me realise the tiny little flaws that may mare a good photograph. And through it all, we were very very fortunate to have Ryan Wong to guide us through the storm. He spent hours after hours going through our work on goodwill and made sure that we managed to cover as much potential flaws as we could. So Ryan, thank you very very much.

Next up, was even more good news.

Apart from being inducted into the Master Photographer Association, we have also been sucessfully accepted into both WPJA(Wedding photojournalist Association) and AGWPJA (Artistic Guild Wedding photojournalist Association). So it really is a double celebration for us at CoffeestainsPhotography.

So, now that the road is set, we are more then ready to get back to our monitors and get all our work done as soon as we can. =P Please pardon us for the long wait, i hope you understand. =)
